Bitmap

When deciding on which graphical file format to use the following things must be taken into account.
Bitmap graphics may be lower quality but they are more suited for web usage generally have a smaller file size and are very common, however they have more disadvantages such as: they are harder to compress specifically when the user wants to keep the image at an agreeable quality and they become Pixelised when zoomed in on.

Vector

Vector graphics don't loose quality when compressed or when zoomed in on this makes them very food for professional looking images, however they have larger file sizes and need to be compressed often and doing than can have a lesser effect on the images quality. vector graphics can also be annoying to have on a web page as the take longer to load this may impact the creator of the web page as his or her audience may stop visiting the page.
